Position Summary

Product category: Womens handbags, small leather goods, scarves, gloves and hats.

The Senior Accessories Designer is responsible for the design and development of the womens accessories collection, coordinating closely with the womenswear design team and footwear designer. The focus of the role is to create a directional accessories collection comprising key seasonal shapes for hard and soft accessories ensuring a commerciality and newness reflecting the brand DNA in terms of quality and appearance.

This hugely successful brand is a market leader in modern chic premium fashion enjoying worldwide sales.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of mood boards and colour palettes in line with the seasonal theme working closely with the design team and creative director.
  • Development of the seasonal line plan collaborating with the merchandising team and Creative Director.
  • Design of the accessories collection comprising handbags, small leather goods and soft accessories.
  • Sourcing and development of all raw materials and components working with factories and tanneries and the in-house fabric and development teams.
  • Presentations at key phases of the season to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the creation of detailed technical sketches for the factories.
  • Seasonal travel for sourcing and development.
  • Liaising closely with the product developer throughout the development process.
  • Approval of all prototypes samples.
  • Manage and delegate work to the Assistant Accessories Designer

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Accessories Design.
  • Womens Accessories Designer with at least 5 years experience in Premium or Luxury fashion.
  • Experience designing for an international market is preferable.
  • Excellent eye for shape, colour, materials and trims.
  • Strong commercial understanding of construction techniques for accessories.
  • Experience developing accessories with factories in Europe, South American and the Far East.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent drawing skills.
  • Confident presentation skills.
