Position Summary

A unique opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading volume clothing manufacturers with more than a century's experience in innovation and adaptability they continue to deliver value adding solutions for the modern apparel industry with manufacturing bases in Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Indonesia.

As Technical & QA Manager based in Mumbai you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and fit standards of all manufactured goods working with third party CMT factories in Mumbai, Dehli and Bangalore. Product categories include mens and womens casualwear and formalwear for the mid-market UK high street and major US fashion and sportswear brands.

The ideal applicant will be an established Technical & QA Manager and either an ex-pat or local expert with direct experience working with CMT factories manufacturing formal and casual garments for the UK high street. Your career should include US, European or UK fashion experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct product risk assessment.
  • Oversee the coordination of patterns and accurate compilation of technical packs.
  • Set and maintain quality and production standards and ensure these are strictly adhered to.
  • Explain, understand and resolve any technical issues.
  • Weekly visits to factory sites to ensure product is on time and to the desired quality standards.
  • Manage critical path and ensure production samples run to deadlines.
  • Coordinator sampling, overseeing fit samples and seals at all stages of production.
  • Check samples for costings, measurements, quality, construction methods, fabric and labelling and sign off for final shipment.
  • Conduct in line process control and customer process matching.
  • Conduct garment audits prior to export.
  • Customer liaison resolving any queries and to ensure critical path deadlines are achieved.

Essential Skills

  • Ex pat or local expert with a proven track record as a Technical or QA Manager with experience of mens and womens UK, US and/or European high street fashion.
  • Proven track record in establishing and maintaining quality and fit standards with Far East factories working closely with them on a daily basis.
  • Excellent hands on experience of the fit process through to final production sample.
  • Experience working across mens and womens casualwear and formalwear.
  • A confident, enthusiastic, proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels from factory workers to senior management.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
